Careers in Fashion

A panel of professionals from various areas of the fashion industry will speak about their experiences and what it took to shape their career in fashion. A rep from ----will be present to give guide lines and advice on the initial job search in the fashion industry. Panel will include a fashion publicist, designer, recruiter, retail entrepreneur, fashion editor and events manager.
 

Adult Fashion and Commercial Print

Learning the different types of Print Modeling. Learn to pose more naturally with confidence and become more comfortable with who you are. Understanding your body languge and poses that work for you. Learn the fundementals of On Set protocol and working in front of the camera with photographers, MUA's, Hair Stylists, Wardrobe Stylists, and crew.

Runway Choreography

Elizabeth Grzejka, Runway Trainer for That Look Models, will teach models advanced, high-fashion techniques for walking, posture, poses, poise, turns, partner choreography and more. Industry terminology will also be covered so that participants can walk the walk and talk the talk!

Runway Model Hair

Creative Styling director and hair artist Selina Lilies from Lilies Hair Studio will instruct and demonstrate how to turn ordinary hair into a runway ready hairstyle. Bring a tear sheet of your favorite high fashion hairstyle and learn how to achieve this look and make it work for you.

Pro Modeling

Learn the basic techniques to handle a runway show or audition. Developing skills needed to improve appearance through poise, posture and walking correctly. Female attendees must wear a skirt or dress and appropriate shoes for these classes. The last class will be participating in a SJFW sponsored Fashion Show as a Runway Model with paricipating designers. This is a ten week course.

Model Training Camp

San Francisco’s top model agents make up this panel to let aspiring models know what to expect in the world of fashion modeling. Discussion will outline how to stand out in a casting, interview tactics, and optional runway choreography. Aspiring Models will also have a chance to sit down one-on-one with each participating agent in a speed interview exercise.

Art of the Fashion Photoshoot

A one-on-one fashion photo shoot with a local fashion photographer. Learn to pose like a pro while in front of the camera. The photographer will guide you step-by-step on what it takes to capture the perfect shot. Each participant will receive a twenty-minute, private fashion photo shoot and the best photograph taken during the shoot. This years fashion photographers include Stevn De Lozada, Wayne Kania, and Vincent Paul.

Workshops will cover subjects as Image, Presentation, Learning to like yourself, Manners and Etiquette, Speech Presentations, Achieving Dreams through setting Goals, and more. This is a ten (10) week course.
