When we came to IGB to write this review we were a little shocked, it didn't look like any buffet we have ever seen. Beautiful chairs, tables, booths, a full service bar and of course Gourmet Dining at a buffet price. The food was comparible if not even better then what you would experience in a much more expensive restaurant. The service is excellent, the food fantastic, and their Executive Chef, Lance Katcher even came to our table to welcome us personally and ask us if we were pleased with the food and the service.
IGB's Menu There is a plethora of dishes from many parts of the world available at IGB, American, Caribbean, Sicilian, Italian, French, Persian, Indian, Japanese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Portugese, Chinese, Greek and many more. Each and every selection was equally flavorful and distinctive, a pleasure to the palette.
Menu Favorites include the flavorful Trebeca Tri Tip, cooked to perfection, Sicilian Chicken Scapperella, Sesame Almond Calamari, Portuguese Pork Stew, Baton Rouge BBQ Steak, Tuscany Beef Pasta, Tandoori Chicken, Killer Shrimp, Kobideh Beef Kabob, Lemon Grass Pork Ribs, Chicken Teriyaki, Isle of Capri Seafood, Jambalaya, Coconut Ginger Scallion, Toluca Chili Chicken Verde. If this isn't enough they still have over 20 selections from the Salad Bar, 6 or more Soups and the most delicious deserts available like Espresso Sambuca Creme Brule, Baklava, Fresh Lemon Lime Tarts, Pecan Chocolate Ganache and much more.
The Executive Chef Lance Katcher loves to talk about the value at IGB You can get a 3 course meal for $25 or a 5 course meal for $35, but where can you get a 75 course meal with a selection like we have for only $10.99? With a full service Bar? He has a point, nowadays value, savings and quality is what most people want in a restaurant, IGB offers this and more.
The Service IGB has such wonderful food that they had to hire the best trained service staff in San Jose to match. Quallity food matched with quality service, ensures your every need is attended to. They always asked if we needed drinks and were very attentative to each and every patron. I could tell at IGB they really stressed customer service and satisfaction.
Le Chef Extrordinaire Executive Chef Lance Katcher has worked for many years in kitchens all across the country from N.Y. to L.A. and wherever he has gone he has created a sensation with his dishes. Perhaps it's his unending energy, attention to details or his choice of the freshest ingredients, or the way he preps for for hours, but as a whole, eating from his kitchen is marvelous experience you must try.
